In today’s rapidly changing retail environment, offline stores are under pressure to transition from traditional sales models to stores that combine both offline experience and sales. One of SD Group’s clients, Sundan, recognized this need and decided to implement a new strategy. However, they faced significant issues with product security and customer experience, particularly with TWS (True Wireless Stereo) earphones. Sundan struggled with high cargo damage rates and suboptimal sales performance. SD proposed an innovative TWS headphone interactive display solution to address these challenges.
Challenges Faced by Sundan
- Weak Security System: Traditional display shelves lacked effective security features, leading to product theft.
- Poor Customer Experience: The previous system for product interaction, such as touch-tone displays, was outdated, leading to poor customer experiences.
- High Damage Rate: The touch-tone displays for earphones were easily damaged, leading to operational inefficiencies.
- Limited Staff Presence: Due to the store layout, staff members couldn’t effectively assist customers or track product interaction.
SD’s Interactive Display Solution for TWS Headphones
After a month of in-depth discussions between SD’s R&D team and Sundan’s marketing team, SD developed a comprehensive TWS headphone interactive display solution that addressed all of the challenges faced by Sundan’s stores. The solution included:
- Interactive Experience: The new display system was designed to support all types of TWS earphones. Consumers could interact with the earphones independently, enjoying personalized listening experiences. The system automatically switched between wired and wireless headsets based on consumer choice. Once the consumer picked up an earphone, product ads and information were triggered, and they could choose music or experience cloud-based audio selections.
- Enhanced Security: The new display system utilized behavioral detection and TWS distance threshold technology to ensure product security. If a consumer walked away from the display counter with a product, the system triggered an alarm and sent an alert to staff phones, allowing for quick intervention without the need for constant supervision.
- Self-Serve Display: The system allowed for self-service, where customers could pair their own TWS earphones on-site without the need for staff assistance. This feature improved customer autonomy and minimized product handling, reducing wear and tear.
Outcome
The new TWS headphone interactive display solution was successfully launched in Sundan’s offline stores on April 16, 2021. The results were impressive:
- Zero Damage: The new system completely eliminated the damage rate, with no reported product losses.
- Sales Growth: Compared to the previous year, Sundan saw a 73% increase in earphone sales, demonstrating the effectiveness of the solution.
SD’s collaboration with Sundan is a prime example of how intelligent display solutions can resolve retail challenges, enhance customer experiences, and drive sales.
